Hello! I’m Zeldy Schwei
A mom of two and a sewing lover from London, UK, now sewing and teaching in Crown Heights, Brooklyn.
Sewing isn’t just a hobby for me. It’s a passion I love sharing with children and adults alike. With over a decade of experience, sewing has been part of my life for as long as I can remember.
My journey with sewing began early on
I watched my mother skilfully mend our clothes and make our Purim costumes. Those moments sparked a fascination that only grew stronger over the years. From school sewing classes to after-school sessions, I soaked up every bit of knowledge and technique I could.
After advanced sewing classes post-seminary, I moved to New York after marriage and started offering alterations in the evenings. I quickly noticed a growing demand for sewing lessons.
Teaching is where my heart is
Balancing motherhood, I started giving sewing classes to girls aged eight and up. Seeing the joy on their faces as they learn to hand sew, use a sewing machine and create beautiful projects fills me with pride.
It’s so rewarding to watch my students master sewing and let their creativity shine. Each class is a journey of discovery, and I’m grateful to be part of it.
